Mama Said Sew

Deciding how i wanted to lay it out.. Random but with a pattern....
In the last couple of months I have pick quilting back
up. I have decided though I like
to make modern rag quilts the best.
I also love using the trendy hip fabric, like Amy Butler, Heather
Bailey, or Michael Miller. There
is a place in Fort Collins that has the most amazing fabrics. It’s called Mama
Said Sew, and I am luck y I don’t currently live there or I would be spending a
lot of money. Casper doesn’t have
ANY selection of “modern” fabrics so that kind of angers me. Plenty selections of grandmother fabric
though… if that makes sense.
Lol
Jelly-Roll quilt scene in previous posts
I do have a problem finishing things…I still need to
complete the binding on my original quilt and I am also currently doing a
“jelly-roll” quilt that I need to finish the piecing on the front side. Piecing is my favorite part… I also
started a purse (that is not finished) This is probably why I like rag quilts
the best because I do the batting front and back pretty much all at the same
time. I think once I get better I
would really like to sell them… Maybe I should finish something 1st…

Yet, I did finish a rag quilt just recently for Lennah, my

A-Z Things I Love
Inspired by Lisa O
(Lisa's Blog) who fills things like this all the time I though I would try one. So here ya go A-Z of all the favorite
things I love.
A-Alcohol beverages—I
love a good tasting beer or a nice fruity mix drink after a long day at work or
a night out with friends.
B- Bunnies—I love
seeing baby bunnies grow and helping caring for them. It is sad to see when they don’t make it. Didn’t realize how touchy newborn
babies are.
C-Concerts—I love
seeing a great band/performer live with a nice cold beer in hand. And of
course, what Lisa said: Country all the way!
D-Dining out—Probably
the reason why I need to loose 30 pounds but I love to eat at different restaurants. I like to cook too but just need to do
it more and someone to cook for.
E-Education—I love
school, I know sounds weird. It
has been 2 yrs since I graduated from nursing school and I miss it! I would love to go to grad school but I
don’t to be in debt anymore then I already am.
F-Family/Friends—I
couldn’t ask for more then great friends and a supportive family that I can
always rely on.
G-Garden—I love
planting vegetables and watching them grow and then enjoying the finished
product I do have say that my garden at this time is pretty over grown with
weeds.
H-Hospital—I know
this is a weird but it is the one place that I’m able to feel like a true
nurse, challenge my mind and interact with friends and coworkers.
I-I Phone—It’s
amazing how important one little handy device is so important with connecting
you with your friends/family and the world.
J-Jeep—I love
driving my jeep especially with the roof off, windows down, subwoofer blasting
listening to great music.
K-Knitting—this
goes about with Q but I do love to knit even though it has been awhile since I
made anything.
L-License—My
Registered Nurse license that is. J
M-Music—I love
listening to music mostly country, top 20, alternative and pop/rock. Especially
as loud as I can. I’m going to be
deaf by the time I’m 60 but ooh well.
N-Netflix—I watch
Netflix all the time especially while lying in bed.
O-Oops—I’m
blonde, enough said.
P-Pedicures—The
one this that I truly do a lot that is girly and makes my feet feel wonderful.
Q-Quilting—My new
found hobby that I did mostly last winter when it was cold and dreary outside. I know it makes me sound about 70 yrs
old but its fun to pick out different fabrics and see what goes together.
R-Rascal—My crazy
anorexic geriatric 17 year old cat that I can’t imagine living with out.
S-Single—Being
single again is bittersweet. I am
happy that I’m not in a relationship anymore that causes he hurt but wish I
would meet that special person someday.
T-Television—I
love vegging out and lying on the couch watching nothing-important thinking
about being productive. As I type
this I’m laying here.
U-Underwood—As in
Carrie, love her music! As well as
the other pop country singers like Dierks Bentley, Josh Turner, etc.
V-Vegetables—I
love eating fresh vegetables and fruit it is delicious and healthy all in one.
W-Wyoming—As much
as I would like to move back to Colorado Wyoming is actually a pretty good
place.
X-XOXO—Hugs and
kisses how everyone needs them.
Y-You—I know this
is a long stretch but the few numbers of people that actually read my blog and
are involved in my life.
Z-Zzzz—As in
sleeping and cuddling all warm and comfy.

I Did It
I actually did it. In my last blog I talked about needing a new hobby…. Well Ladies and Gentlemen…. I now am the proud parent of 2 additional rabbits as well as started piecing together my own quilt…
Abigail
Bonnie is the black bunny born August 7th she is a Black Mini Rex. She doesn’t seem as tame as Abigail but is actually show quality.
Bonnie
Lastly, Cole who is my original rabbit. He is 2 years old and has been in multiple shows and his last owner didn’t want him any more because he is starting to develop white spots. He is by far the tamest and will let me hold him anyway. He does seem a little more manic now since the girls are here.

More to come on the bunnies…

Crazy Hobby Ideas
The last year I have been really needing a hobby to do that will keep my interest for a long period of time. After doing some very brief sewing with Rebekah and her mom I think it would be really fun to learn how to quilt. (Yea Yea I know it sounds like a 60 year old hobby) but I really like creating things and would love to have quilts that I have made 40 years ago passed on to my family and possibly children if I ever have some. I have a quilt my grandma made 20 years ago and I think it is beautiful and so full of love. This also is a way to learn something this is important to know. It seems like sewing is becoming a lost art and would like to be able to have the skill for the future. There is a quilting place in Casper that has classes I’m going check out when I get home and see but Rebekah also knows how to quilt. I would really like to go someplace and do it where I have designated time allotted. We’ll see what happens.
Now my next hobby you might think I’m a little off my rocker…but I want to become a rabbit breeder… Pause for laughter…..I know what you are think what has Wyoming done to her… And this is pretty extreme and I really don’t know what I am doing but I would like to learn. I have been doing so research and it doesn’t seem too hard. Of course these are going to have to be pedigree rabbits so I found some places in Northern Colorado (Because there are NONE in Wyoming) that have the right kind of rabbit (Doe) I need since my current rabbit, Cole, is a Buck….Yep crazy. So we see if anything comes of this. Plus where am I going to hold this operation in my Garage like where my current rabbit lives…I don’t know we’ll see.J
This a video of my current Rabbit Cole and my lazy cat Rascal.
