Diesel

At 7 weeks old, with the frog he
stole from Lennah
7 weeks old, so cute

It has been awhile since I have written anything.  Mostly because I pretty much have been living at TJ’s and he didn’t have Internet till a couple days ago.  So I really have not been in touch with the cyber world the last couple of months.

Sharing a water bowl
I also have been pretty occupied with my new member of my house.  His name is Diesel; he is an 11 weeks old Border collie.  He has consumed a lot of my time on my days off.  Mostly, I watch him and make sure that he doesn’t do anything that he isn’t suppose to which is very distracting from other daily routines.   He actually is a pretty good puppy. Potty trained already with only 2 incidents in the house.   He loves his crate and sleeps willing in it every night and during the days when I’m at work. He is a licker and a biter (which we are trying to break).  He loves his tail and has tail wars daily.  Kind of a pansy, doesn’t really live up to his name, but I guess all 11-week-old puppies are.  He gets along great with Claire the cat and uses her as his own personal chew toy.  Totally a herding dog, always tries to herd you in the yard.  Hate water! To the point when the shower is on he hides.  Retrieves balls and plays with his own approved toys except for one causality which was my band new $70 laptop cord….grrr.
Rare occasion where he is not eating her
My men

He always stays right by your side; except when getting in the vehicle.  He doesn’t like going places (or at least in the vehicle) he will take off and run the opposite direction, where I have to retrieve him and pick him up and put in the vehicle.  Hopefully he grows out of that.
Over the last month of having him he has defiantly became a momma’s boy and is always attached to my side and always chooses me over TJ.  I say in the divorce TJ would get the dog but we might have to reevaluate that J.
It’s been awhile since I have had a dog and I really missed it.  It’s amazing how different they are from cats.  And how much I love having a dog.   I do believe he thinks he is a cat and Claire is a dog.
New Bed I made today

Can’t wait till it’s a little nicer outside and not blowing 65mph wind go on walks and runs.  Border Collies need a lot of exercise and hopefully I can keep up with him when he gets bigger.
Now don’t get we wrong I would someday love to have a golden retriever so maybe in a year we will start over with the puppy training.  More to come with the animals in my life.

Introducing Claire

Just hanging out
Rascal sending her bad habits from the
grave

I would like to introduce the newest member of my family. Claire. She is a 4-month-old diluted torti grey domestic shorthair.  Also better known as a kitten.  I got her from the humane society in Casper, because like everything else in Casper. I could not find a kitten for sale.  It also isn’t “kitten season” but ooh well.  I had to have phone calls of reference, a letter from my landlord and an interview to qualify for a pet from the humane society.  I expected to go there and pick her up the same day.
Being herself
It took forever to figure out her name.  Her shelter name was like Shabion…, which was not going to work… So it was either Magnolia, Summer, Shea, Spring...and I do like the name Claire (which was one of her sister’s names) and though why not…
Just waking up and this is what I see
Anyway, Claire seems to be a pretty good cat so far (besides pooping in places she is not suppose to be but will over look that for now).  She is very cuddly and playful.  She doesn’t really scratch but is better at using her teeth which I’m not sure is a better thing.  I am glad I choose her over the other 300 cats available there.  She isn’t a baby kitten but just fine with me.  Another corky thing is she can fart and clear a room! I never had a cat that hand such smelly poop.
Claire also is a traveling cat that goes back and forth with me to TJs house.  I feel bad leaving her for hours locked up in the laundry room with no one to play with or be with so she goes everywhere with me so far.
Helping with taxes
I am excited for when she gets to meet TJs puppy in a couple weeks and hope they are the best of friends.  So a puppy and a kitten in the same year will be fun.  I still want a puppy myself but 3 might be a little over kill.  (ooh and don’t forget about the rabbits)
I do have to say I really still miss Rascal and even have called Claire Rascal a couple times, as well as Kallie.  But that should get better over time.  I’m excited for many more years to come with her.

Butt warmers!

For Christmas TJ got me seat warmers for my jeep... I'm super excited! It's the one thing that my jeep didn't have when I got it.. And now it has everything I want an need in a 'luxury' vehicle. He is so super sweet to install them for me too! I was expecting some anxiety watching him ripping my jeep apart but I did just fine.
I look forward to many years of keeping my butt warm ;p.

Jackson Hole, WY

I now understand the beauty of the Tetons and Jackson Hole.  I had a great mini vacation with Teej (TJ) and got to learn more about him and get to know if family better.  I would love to live in Jackson... A little pricy but I think i can manage it :)... I even looked at job openings at the local hospital.  I would love to come back in the summer time and see it completely different.  I know the snow and cold is magical but -10 below is really only nice in short periods of time. I'm excited for what 2013 brings!
